Capcom Has Reportedly Started Work on Resident Evil 1 Remake
Dusk Golem says that Capcom has entered full production on a remake of the original Resident Evil. The horror game insider and leaker made the claim on a thread speculating about why certain content may have been cut from the most recent Resident Evil game.
According to the Dusk Golem, the Resident Evil 1 remake is still years away from release, as full development on the project has only just begun. They also allege that the long-rumoured Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake is indeed in the works and will be the next Resident Evil game and that we’ll so both Code Veronica and a Resident Evil Zero remake launch before Resident Evil 1 Remake comes out.
That’s quite a series of claims to make so casually. At the time of writing, Capcom has not confirmed it is working on another Resident Evil title after Resident Evil Requiem, which released late February. Dusk Golem’s track record with Resident Evil leaks is excellent, so there’s fans of Capcom’s premier horror franchise have good reason to be excited.
