Respawn’s third Star Wars Jedi game is far along in development and could be officially revealed soon, according to Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier.

Writing on Bluesky on 30 October, Schreier described Jedi 3 as “far in development”. His comments suggest the sequel is substantially further along than EA’s other reported Star Wars project, Battlefront 3.

In a separate reply about the next Jedi game, he added: “That’s still coming, should be officially announced soon.”

Schreier didn’t specify when that announcement might happen or provide a release window.

The update follows EA’s recent restructuring, which included cancelling the next Mass Effect and announcing BioWare’s closure. While the publisher is reducing the number of large action-adventure projects it develops simultaneously, it has explicitly committed to continuing the Jedi sequel.

In its 21 October statement, EA named the next Star Wars Jedi game and Marvel’s Iron Man as two major upcoming launches it would continue to deliver.

That statement also confirmed that Respawn and DICE would collaborate on a future shooter, without identifying the game. Schreier subsequently named that project as Battlefront III, but said development hadn’t started.

His replies therefore put the two projects at very different stages: Battlefront remains a future undertaking, while Respawn’s next Jedi adventure is already well into development and, according to Schreier, approaching its formal unveiling
